Dive News :: Divers pool planned in KL

Kuala Lumpur City Hall plans to build a pool for scuba-diving enthusiasts.
Datuk Bandar Datuk Roslin Hasan said today that the pool, which is now at the planning stage, would offer a variety of basic courses for city folk.

Roslin said this after launching the Scuba Diving carnival at the Kuala Lumpur Swimming Complex. He is the patron of the Kuala Lumpur Scuba Diving Association.

He said the aim was to encourage city folk to love nature and to expose them to the underwater world.

SAFE HOBBY: Two divers at the carnival at the Kuala Lumpur Swimming Complex yesterday.

Not everyone can be a footballer or an athlete, but everyone can indulge in an extreme sport that is safe. We are also planning to make it affordable for all, including the lower income group," he said.

As a long term plan, City Hall and the association hope to set up an alumnus association for scuba divers.
