Philippines :: Puerto Galera : Sabang Point

This is another site worth visiting. A colourful coral reef descends from 7-20m. It is covered with feather stars, pot sponges, sea whips and sea pens. On the descent, you will arrive at a wall covered with different corals and home to morays, multi-coloured nudibranches and fluorescent blue triggerfish.

Slightly further around Sabang Bay, to the west, lie two wrecks - Sabang and Chuck's - at depths of between 14-22m. It is only a minute's swim between the two and they have come to rest on a white, sandy bottom. Schools of batfish and surgeonfish await handouts and it seems that bananas are their favorite food. You will also see plenty of lionfish, morays and smaller reef fish. There are also the remains of a Japanese Zero fighter aircraft closeby and this is a good spot to find frog fish.

Laguna Point
Again moving around the bay to the west is Laguna Point. You can make many dives here before you feel you know the area. Schools of Moorish Idols are everywhere and reef blocks are home to lionfish and nudibranches.

Slightly further west of the point are mutiple walls at different depths and some enormous fans that stand over ten feet above the reef.
